If you would like your desktop icons to have no text underneath than try this tweak:
Right click the icon and select 'rename'.
Now hold the 'Alt' key and type '255' and hit enter.
OR
Hold 'Alt' key and type '0160' and hit enter.
NOTE: It may only work with the keypad numbers and not the number keys on top of the keyboard.
